
People don’t look up enough in Paris. If you did, you’d see strange building decorations like this all over the city. These statues happen to be holding the street numbers above the entrance of a residential building near the Parc de Belleville.

As you can see, there’s not much to see at the ground level. The statues are so out of place I wondered if perhaps one of the local artists had placed them there after the original building was constructed just to give it a bit of style. Not sure it worked, but it certainly caught my eye!

What a lovely find. And yes, you are quite right, one should look around and up because there are such little treasures all over Paris.

The beginning of your post made me laugh out loud, simply because I am currently reading "A Year in the M….", by Stephen Clarke, and his multiple accounts of stepping in poop seem to amply justify why people should look down!But I've been to Paris three times now and have had no similar incident, so I too, would enjoin others to look up.Thanks for sharing,Val
