Like most of the new bars in the Champs Elysées district, this one used to be a famous “hostesse” bar called Le Suspense. After being closed for several years, a new owner has completely renovated and reopened the lbar under the name Williams. With its friendly service and good-value prices, it’s a good address to keep in your pocket, especially if you happen to be anywhere near the Arc de Triomphe.
Williams’ offers light lunches and because Marco, the owner, is Italian-Canadian, he not only speaks perfect English but also knows how to make a decent cup of cappucino! Best of all, there’s free Wifi and comfy upholstered chairs so you can check your email in peace and comfort.
And of course, the “cocktail” part of the name means that the bar is also open in the evening for cocktails. They specialize in Martinis and have Happy Hour cocktails for just €5 Mon-Fri from 5:30pm-8:30pm. Every Thursday is Student Night, with €5 cocktails all night and €4 beers and wine. Tell Marco I sent you! These prices surely won’t last for long once the new venue establishes itself in the neighborhood.
