Another hip new bar for cool cats has opened in the Montorgueil district. A few streets down from the Experimental Cocktail Club, this bar has a refreshingly bright interior thanks to the whitewashed walls and high ceilings. On the ground floor you’ll find the bar with its globe lamps and funky 50s (40s?) retro wallpaper. A mezzanine has round plastic chairs and windows overlooking the street. Through the beaded curtain is a mosaic tiled bathroom…

Downstairs is another whitewashed space under the vaulted stone ceilings, with another bar, a DJ, and a space used for dancing and screening films. Cocktails are served in fish-bowl-sized wine glasses. I had the Cranberry Bubble (Champagne-vodka-cranberry). There are three owners, and the night I was there it was the gallant Cyrille and his fabulously-coiffed co-owner Elise reigning over an entourage of pretty young things. Champagne by the glass €6. Great place for an apertif!
