Adanowsky Concert Tonight at Bus Paladium

On Wednesday I went to L’International Bar on the Rue Moret in the 11th to see Adanowsky, just back from a successful tour in Latin America, play for a crowd of mostly friends and family. I’ve seen Adan play before, and he’s a born entertainer, so it was a pleasure to see him en forme and to hear some of the songs from his new album Amador (many in Spanish, because although he grew up in France, Adan’s mother is Mexican-Irish and his father is the Chilean director Alejandro  Jodorowsky, so he’s fluent in many languages). The boys from Gush joined in for a few songs (they’ll be opening for Adan at La Cigale on June 8), and the show ended with a raucous singalong with the packed crowd followed by a DJ set by the ever-present master of ceremonies Nicolas Ullmann.

As much as I like the old-school basement atmosphere of L’International, tonight’s free show at the Bus Paladium (6 Rue Fontaine, 9th) is bound to be even better. Free entry, concert at 10pm downstairs, restaurant (warning: quite pricey) open upstairs from 9pm. Whether you’re a fan or just looking for some good entertainment for the evening, I highly recommend checking it out (although I must say that listening to him sing in Spanish makes me wish I was somewhere warmer than Paris right now…spring can come anyday!)
