While Paris is divided into 20 administrative districts known as arrondissements, the city is really made up of many more distinct neighborhoods (quartiers or faubourgs), and even a few villages with their own character and atmosphere. But while arrondissements are easily carved out on the city’s map, the edges of Paris’ neighborhoods tend to overlap and change often with real estate trends and constantly-shifting populations. These articles are an attempt to give a bit more of a peek into the city’s various neighborhoods, their main sights, interesting streets, and noteworthy shops and dining options.
