Originally built as a bank in 1870, the building was converted into a hotel in 1896 and has retained many of its beautiful Belle Epoch architectural details such as the magnificent wooden reception desk and the retro elevator. The 27 soundproofed rooms are spacious, each one individually decorated with antique French furnishings, 19th-century paintings, marble fireplace mantles, as well as hand-carved mahogany and sycamore headboards. Top floor rooms have views of Sacré Coeur. The photos on the website give a good idea of the enormous retro bathrooms (found in rooms 15, 21, and 41). Street-facing rooms can be noisy, but the top-floor views over the rooftops make up for it. Free high-speed internet access is available in the lobby. Located in the residential Nouvelle Athènes district between Montmartre and the Opéra Garnier, around the corner from the Musée de la Vie Romantique and Gustave Moreau Museum. 24 rooms, 3 suites.
