Hands-down winner for being the most centrally located hotel in Paris, the Hospitel is hidden on the top floor of the historic Hôtel Dieu Hospital right next to Nôtre Dame. Used primarily by medical staff and the families of hospital patients, the 14 spotless rooms are brightly decorated with modern furnishings and feature spacious bathrooms, A/C, TV, telephone, safe, and wi-fi internet access. You get there by going past the garden courtyard, up a small flight of stairs, through the surgical wing decorated with historic photographs, and up the elevator to the 6th floor hotel lobby.
Doubles are €110, breakfast served in the room is €8. Some rooms have views of Notre Dame’s famous gargoyles through the skylight windows, and two rooms have been specially adapted for disabled travelers. All guests have access to the quiet courtyard gardens, and room service is available from 7am-8pm. Although you’re basically staying in a hospital, where else are you going to find a hotel this quiet and thoroughly sanitized?
