The address may seem out of the way, but this charming neighborhood is within easy walking distance to Luxembourg Gardens and St-Germain-des-Prés. As a tribute to Montparnasse’s artistic history, each room is decorated tastefully with works by local artists. There is satellite TV, air conditioning, and even a few private parking spaces. The price is excellent for the value, especially for the family-friendly two-room suites (under 150 euros; one has a terrace in a separate building off the courtyard garden). The owner is very friendly and loves to talk about the artworks he’s colected in the reception area. Nearby is the weekly artists’ market at the Marché Edgar Quinet.
