Some of you noticed there was no May newsletter. May is my August, when I skip town for a few weeks. This time I was in New York, attending the BookExpo publishing trade show, so I have books on the brain (as you’ll see). In the meantime I’ve become a regular on Twitter (@ParisHeather), usually adding last-minute Paris events and news that doesn’t make it on the Secrets of Paris site. I also just bought a little video recorder, and have been making mini-films of my neighborhood, my market, and excursions around town with my canine sidekicks Pedro & Lena. As soon as I’m done editing them down, I’ll pop them up on the site. If you’re in Paris, enjoy this wee…

  • You should also have mentioned Berkeley Books of Paris, an excellent second-hand bookshop near the place de l’Odéon.

  • You might be interested to know that there is a celebration being held from June 30 to July 3 to honor the fiftieth anniversary of the publication of William S. Burroughs’ Naked Lunch. See nakedlunch.org for details.

  • Oops, missed that one (I haven’t been there recently, so I assume they’re still open).

  • I noted, you did not mention The San Francisco Book Store, among the English book stores. Has it closed?
