From Heather’s Desk
Some of you noticed there was no May newsletter. May is my August, when I skip town for a few weeks. This time I was in New York, attending the BookExpo publishing trade show, so I have books on the brain (as you’ll see). In the meantime I’ve become a regular on Twitter (@ParisHeather), usually adding last-minute Paris events and news that doesn’t make it on the Secrets of Paris site. I also just bought a little video recorder, and have been making mini-films of my neighborhood, my market, and excursions around town with my canine sidekicks Pedro & Lena. As soon as I’m done editing them down, I’ll pop them up on the site. If you’re in Paris, enjoy this wee…
You should also have mentioned Berkeley Books of Paris, an excellent second-hand bookshop near the place de l’Odéon.
You might be interested to know that there is a celebration being held from June 30 to July 3 to honor the fiftieth anniversary of the publication of William S. Burroughs’ Naked Lunch. See nakedlunch.org for details.
Oops, missed that one (I haven’t been there recently, so I assume they’re still open).
I noted, you did not mention The San Francisco Book Store, among the English book stores. Has it closed?
