It Wasn’t Quite a Vacation

As some of you have noticed, there wasn’t a newsletter in August. But that’s not because, like most people in France, I was on vacation. In fact, I was so busy working and (literally) running around town that I just didn’t have enough time to get it out before September snuck up on me. Besides the regular summer tour schedule (where I discovered on one shopping tour that you’re only actually allowed to buy one Chanel bag every two months with the same passport), I also put the finishing touches on the sleek, new and improved Paris Pastry Guide v2.0 (making sure David Lebovitz didn’t get too much R&R either). It wasn’t all work, though. Last weekend, after four months of training, I ran the Marathon du Medoc (with sidekick Bryan Pirolli), enjoying 34°C/91°F heat and some amazing Bordeaux wines.…
