Looking for a cozy and historical hotel in the Marais district? This 24-room hotel, situated a few steps from the Place des Vosges and Carnavalet Museum, has a medieval look with vaulted stone walls, wooden beamed ceilings, dark wood furnishings, and high-backed chairs covered in tapestry fabrics.

You’ll get more than the average amount of space for the neighborhood, with old-fashioned furnishings mixing nicely with flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and hair dryers. Light sleepers should ask for a room facing the side street, not rue de Turenne. The friendly cleaning crew leaves chocolates and flowers in the rooms.

24 rooms, elevator, WiFi (charge), AC. Doubles from €150.

  • This is a good hotel. Prices have risen (we were seeing E190 for a weekend in April '11) and it appears to under new ownership. Please note that the room on the top floor is very much smaller than the others, very attic-like– however we did not recieve a discount on this, nor could/would they accomodate a shift to a different room. This year we're staying at the E93 Euro Hotel le Compostelle Le Marais, nearby. (Hotel Jeanne D'Arc is also a good bet.)Having said that, it is charming, and a terrific location. Be sure to get an aperitif at the nearby Bar de Jerente.
