Community Member Update: August 23, 2026

This month’s update includes two of the most important events in Paris history that took place on August 24th (in 1572 and 1944), a deeper dive into Catherine de’ Medici, French language courses worth signing up for now, a missed eclipse, a billion-euro plea from the Natural History Museum, my trip to see the World of Frozen at the new Disney Adventure World (in a heatwave, of course), a boutique hotel with a serious rum bar, urban honey from a Louvre bicycle swarm, and the usual wander through Paris in photos.
