As the symbol of Paris, the Eiffel Tower offers a visit to one of the most recognized architectural monuments in the world since its construction for the 1889 World’s Fair.
Opening Hours
Open daily 9:30am-11:45am by elevator (last admission 11pm (10:30pm for the top floor); 9:30am-6:30pm by strairs (last admission 6pm).
Hours can change during special holidays (Bastille Day – July 14th; New Year’s Eve – Dec 31st), so check the official website to be sure.
Avoid Busy Times
If you’re going to wing it and not purchase tickets in advance, or if you’re simply allergic to crowds, the Eiffel Tower tracks average attendance numbers by time of day, day of the week, and month of the year so you can try and aim for a less mobbed moment.

Info and Services
Two restaurants are housed in the Eiffel Tower: Altitude 95 on the first floor, and Jules Verne on the second floor. There is also a small museum, post office, gift boutiques, snack stand, and Champagne bar. The very top floor is not accessible to wheelchair users.
Heather’s Notes: I’m not a huge fan of riding up the Tower because I prefer to look at it. Well, that and the airport-style security, huge crowds, and the fact that you have to squish into two separate elevators to get to the top, and then wait in line again to get down. Count on at least three hours to be safe. Also note that there’s a cage around the top floor which makes photos a bit more difficult.
