Parking in Paris: The Good News & the Bad News

cars parked

For those of you with cars in Paris, note that a few laws have changed in 2011 concerning parking. The good news is that you can now park at night in some “livraison” spaces from 8pm-7am, and all day on Sundays and holidays.

However the ones with a DOUBLE yellow line are still interdits at all hours:

The bad news is that the fee for not paying for your parking place during the day (or going over the time limit), which has been €11 since the 1980s, is going to be raised this year to €17. And now that Sarkozy eliminated the traditional “election year amnesty” for parking infractions, everyone has to pay. Or take the metro. 😉
