The first public drinking fountain with cooled, sparkling water opened on September 21 in the Jardin de Reuilly (12th).
Housed in a former garden shed, the fountain uses CO2 cannisters to create the bubbles and a system of iced pipes to chill the water to 7°C/45°F. These actually already exist in Italy, and now the City of Paris hopes to install more public drinking fountains throughout the city in the near future. What would be nicer is to have fountains that don’t require you to have your own cup/bottle (which all of the Wallace fountains and this new fountain do…sigh).
