France decriminalized abortion in 1975, but tonight the French Parliament voted 780-72 to add a Constitutional amendment guaranteeing the freedom for a woman to choose what she does with her body. While tourists took selfies with the Eiffel Tower, women, men and children of all ages gathered on the aptly-named Parvis des Libertés et des Droits de l’Homme at the Place du Trocadéro in Paris to watch the historic Parliamentary vote taking place at Versailles live on a big screen.
