The old Sur Mesure is now a sexy cool bar, run by three hip young French men. The Montorgueil district has been dying for a decent (new) design bar (the Etienne Marcel isn’t nearly as cozy). Sleek, young, edgy and beautiful could describe both the décor (done by a New Yorker) and the clientele. Live DJs, friendly staff, and affordable (€10) cocktails keep it real. The minimalist-neo-baroque setting with black chesterfields and a zinc bar make for the perfect backdrop to the Champagne and vodka cocktails. I particularly like the Experimental 1, but so far I haven’t had a bad cocktail here!
