This animated French crime thriller is about the double life of Dino the cat, friend of 7-year-old Zoé and her mother the Police Commissioner during the day, and accomplice to Nico the gentleman burglar during the night. The real action begins when all of them get mixed up with the gangsters who killed Zoé’s policeman father. With the funny Belgian accents (the gangsters), the classic film references (like Reservoir Dogs), and the captivating Parisian scenery, this film is worth a watch. It’s not bad for kids either, but don’t expect Ratatouille! This isn’t a cutesy film. It touches on some very serious topics like death and mourning.
Spoiler alert! This review gives away some twists in the plot.
